The annual Capital Fringe Festival this year started on July 11th and will continue until July 24th. If you are looking for a way to celebrate DC’s local artistic culture in addition to checking out the nation’s capital’s monuments and memorials, you don’t want to miss these fantastic comedy, drama, and musical events. The first Capital Fringe Festival launched in 2006 to provide opportunities to performing artists to connect with adventurous audiences in a stripped down, unprocessed, and organic social environment. The inaugural Festival took place in Downtown DC over ten days and featured 96 productions that took place in theaters and vacant buildings. After the pandemic and many shows being canceled, attending the festival is a great way to support local creatives in the DC area and enjoy art. This includes performances from talented musicians and dancers, improv shows, dramas, and musicals. You can attend various events at locations within DC like at museums and libraries as well as other locations.
